The University of Washington’s Commercial Real Estate Certificate Program is now accepting applications for the 2020/2021 session!

05.26.2020

Heartland is proud to have been involved in various ways with this program from the very beginning, first by sharing knowledge as instructors and now by working in partnership with the UW Professional & Continuing Education (“PCE”), to provide ongoing management of the program. Now in its 33rd year, this extremely successful multidisciplinary professional educational offering will begin on October 6, 2020. Members of the commercial real estate industry with anywhere from 3 to 30 years of experience coming from a wide range of disciplines (including architecture, planning, finance, marketing, development, property management, law, investment and all related disciplines) participate in the program to extend their own professional education, become more multidisciplinary, expand their network with other professionals, and access a very broad faculty of local industry leaders.

If you are interested in applying, head to the UW PCE site to learn more about the program and sign up for one of the upcoming online informational sessions.

Public radio station KNKX goes from the brink of doom to new downtown Tacoma digs

09.05.2019

KNKX (88.5 MHz) is a public radio station in Tacoma, Washington. As a National Public Radio affiliate, it airs a jazz and news format for the Seattle metropolitan area. Formerly a part of Pacific Lutheran University, the station is now owned by Friends of 88.5 FM, a community-based non-profit group, who purchased the radio station and its network of translators and rebroadcasters from the university in 2015. KNKX was broadcasting from an on-campus location, but desired a new location independent of the university as part of its new corporate identity.  The station hired Doug Larson with Heartland to assist them in securing office relocation and broadcast space in downtown Tacoma. After a comprehensive search, the station leased a property in the Theater District and began broadcasting operations there in September 2019.
