Heartland has worked with The Book Store since 2015 in developing and stewarding an asset management strategy for its portfolio of owned properties. This sale marks the latest implementation step in the execution of the strategy developed for The Book Store’s portfolio.
KNKX builds a new home in downtown Tacoma

KNKX (88.5 MHz) is a public radio station in Tacoma, Washington. As a National Public Radio affiliate, it airs a jazz and news format for the Seattle metropolitan area. Formerly a part of Pacific Lutheran University, the station is now owned by Friends of 88.5 FM, a community-based non-profit group, who purchased the radio station and its network of translators and rebroadcasters from the university in 2015. KNKX currently broadcasts from an on-campus location, but desired a new location independent of the university as part of its new corporate identity. The station hired Doug Larson with Heartland to assist them in securing relocation office and broadcast space in downtown Tacoma. After a comprehensive search, the station recently leased a property in the Theater District and looks forward to beginning broadcast operations there in 2019.
Homebuilders buy development sites in Redmond, Bothell and near Maple Valley

Heartland led a team comprised of ESM (Civil Engineering) and GeoEngineers (Geotechnical Consultants), performing development feasibility analysis and land brokerage services for the Cadman property in Redmond, WA.
Together the team assessed the property’s physical, regulatory and market conditions resulting in the planned disposition of a 12.8-acre residential portion of the site for $22 million to Bellevue-based homebuilder Polygon Northwest.
Amazon Leases New Office Building in South Lake Union

Amazon.com has leased the entire 159,000 square foot office portion of 9th/Thomas, a new mixed use building in South Lake Union. 9th/Thomas is a legacy project developed by Scott Redman, President of Sellen Construction, on the site where his grandfather, John Sellen, started the company. Heartland assisted the Redman family in the project’s implementation from conception to delivery, and will provide long-term asset management to its ownership group.
