Work on Prologis complex at Tacoma, Fife border begins

Heartland, in partnership with WA-REA, was engaged by the Port of Tacoma to analyze and market for lease one of the Puget Sound Region’s most significant industrial land assets. The team conducted in-depth financial analyses and compared the economic and non-economic terms of the offers, and communicated findings to Port stakeholders in order to ensure an informed and transparent selection process. Through this process, the Port of Tacoma selected a developer, and Heartland/WA-REA led the negotiations that culminated in a beneficial, long-term ground lease of this high value Port asset.

ULI Case Study – Chophouse Row

Heartland partnered with Liz Dunn of Dunn & Hobbes to recapitalize the existing 12th Avenue Marketplace assets and develop Chophouse Row, a contiguous new development, all located within the Pike-Pine Corridor of Capitol Hill. In addition to being recognized as NAIOP’s Mixed-Use Development of the Year in 2015, Chophouse Row was featured as a ULI Case Study.

Innovation campus in Sedro-Woolley moves forward after deal with state

The historic Northern State Hospital in Sedro-Woolley has a new lease on life. The state agreed to transfer the 225-acre campus to the Port of Skagit where it will oversee the development of an innovation campus and the renovation of the historic buildings. The innovation campus will be anchored by Janicki Bioenergy where it will continue to develop the OmniProcessor – a machine that processes sewage into energy and potable water.
